L28 Culinary Platform is a Chef Accelerator in Tel

Just like Israel is a hub for innovation and start-ups, its culinary scene now has a chef talent accelerator – L28 Culinary Platform.

Named after its location at 28 Lilienblum Street, Tel Aviv, it looks just like a new, fine dining restaurant. However, it is actually a lot more, it’s a space dedicated to nurturing young Israeli chef talent looking to make their way in the ruthless world of gastronomy.

The restaurant was designed by Kimmel Eshkolot Architects and sits on the ground floor of Start-Up Nation Central HQ. Start-Up Nation Central is an independent non-profit aiming to build bridges for Israeli innovation. Already embedded in the country’s world-leading start-up scene, it is now moving its attentions to culinary scene in order to give young chef talent the platform to launch themselves.

L28 Culinary Platform will entirely reinvent itself every six months and it is hoped that not only will it provide a steady stream of top chef talent coming through, but will also work to highlight Israeli food abroad. Just as Israeli tech has raised to country’s profile globally, it is hoped that L28 will do the same for its cuisine.
